Country 59/196: San Marino. As far as micronations go, few are more pleasing to the eye than this one. Fewer still require a cable car to reach their capital but San Marino is not your usual country. The oldest sovereign state on earth, as well as the fifth smallest, she elects new leaders every six months, so only slightly less often than the UK. As well as elections, the Sammarinese love ‘Libertas’ (liberty), Abraham Lincoln, and Halloween ghost trains driven by the undead. All aboard the San Marino Halloween Express!
