Country 89/196: Trinidad & Tobago. Trinidad and Tobago may be a twin-island nation, but each half offers a distinctly different experience. Tobago, the smaller and more laid-back of the two, is a place of quiet charm, where historic forts like King George and James stand watch over turquoise waters, and hummingbirds dart between lush tropical flowers. Meanwhile, Trinidad is the cultural and economic powerhouse, famous for its steelpan music, vibrant festivals, and the energy of Port of Spain. Be sure to head to Store Bay Beach for the perfect spot to unwind with a Carib lager or two and don’t be surprised if a local guide decides to serenade you with a bit of Sinatra; the Tobagonians like to sing almost as much as the Welsh.
