Country 95/196: Saint Kitts & Nevis. The smallest sovereign state in the Western Hemisphere, both in terms of size and population, Saint Kitts and Nevis still has an abundance of sights and activities to keep one occupied. The capital, Basseterre, mixes colonial remnants with local life, while sites like Brimstone Hill Fortress offer sweeping views and historical context. From botanical gardens and working batik studios to quiet public squares and restored estates, the island presents a well-preserved record of colonial ambition, resistance, and cultural resilience. It also has some banging bars in the port with some of the cheapest beers in all of the Eastern Caribbean.
