Country 70/196: Luxembourg. Not just a place for the Jimmy Carrs and Gary Barlows to hide their cash, Luxembourg has plenty more to offer than dull suits and tawdry financial institutions. The teardrop-shaped nation maintains a verdant and rolling hinterland outside Luxembourg City that doesn’t look too dissimilar to that of my homeland while her capital sits atop a rocky outcrop providing spectacular views over a forested valley and the meandering Alzette River far below. Although inexcusably expensive, relative bargains can be found in corner shops and on market stalls while exclusively consuming Bofferding lager will keep you healthy and wealthy.
