Country 18/196: Iran. One of the trickiest countries to enter this side of North Korea, to say the Iranian government is not keen on allowing Western tourists to road trip around its historic nation is an understatement. However, once you’ve bribed enough border guards to get in, the locals are some of the warmest and most inviting you’ll find anywhere in Asia. You are guaranteed to be offered tea at least twenty times a day, which was useful in keeping up our fluid levels as we explored the wonders of ancient Persia. Well worth the visa nightmare.
