Country 51/196: France. What better country to take Vishnu the van to first than la France? A campers paradise, the country is filled with aires and rest-stops for weary van lifers or exhausted eco-warriors. From the Celtic north-west to the alpine south-east, there isn’t much you can’t see or do here – except wear swimming trunks in public pools (only budgie smugglers allowed for some ridiculous reason). If braving the capital, be sure to make the effort to Versailles – it makes Buckingham Palace look like Heston Services.
