Country 79/196: Cyprus. Primarily known for beaches and booze, this small Mediterranean island nation has far more to it than just freshers. For those who like a demilitarized zone—and who doesn’t?—the often-shirked capital offers a safe window into Cyprus’ troublesome past although relations with the North today are warmer than ever. The Troodos Mountains dominate the nation’s interior with their highest point, Mount Olympus, home to several ski resorts and when you’re all mountained and monasteried out, head to the coast for what the country is most well known. Following a sunset snap at Aphrodite’s Rock, take the edge off at Flintstones, Paphos, where every drink is served with a Yabba Dabba Doo.
