Country 69/196: Belgium. If you’re in the mood for a Pathological Lager or a Tart Side of the Moon or, indeed, the greatest selection of beer of any nation on earth then Belgium is the place to go. If you can tolerate a cornucopia of stag groups then Delirium Village in Brussels, a collection of eight unique bars housing a world-record selection, is a must. Gothic architecture and masterful artworks are other highlights, especially the cathedrals in Ghent and Bruges – the former housing an altarpiece that rivals any ever painted. Also, don’t forget to visit the ‘Little Pissing Man’ which sometimes subjects his callers to spurts of water from his remarkably accurate bronze penis – the highest of Belgian honours.
