Country 74/196: Austria. Origin of some of the most talented musicians in history, and Conchita Wurst, Austria is the ideal location for all things lyrical. Salzburg was home to both Mozart and, slightly later, a guitar-wielding Julie Andrews while Vienna boasted both Haydn, Schubert, and, granddaddy of them all, Ludwig van Beethoven. Picturesque Hallstatt is only worth the effort out of season while Graz offers far more intrigue and eccentricities than its rather dull capital. Be sure to head to Original Irish Pub Graz for the most authentic of Austrian experiences.
