Country 14/196: Kyrgyzstan. A nation that divides my own opinion. On the one hand there is the rugged and quite stunning Mars-like landscape, filled with deep canyons and crimson gorges with viridescent rivers running through the middle. Good. On the other hand, the Kyrgyz police are the most corrupt I have ever come across and are not ashamed to use the most severe scare-tactics to gain a fast dollar, including the brandishing of handguns. Bad. I am still too resentful to recommend this destination, ask me again in a few years.
