Bucket List 196: Ghana!

Country 41/196: Ghana. A country I will always remember as the place I attempted my first, and hopefully only, marathon (attempted being the operative word). I only made it halfway, but I was roared on by literally handfuls of eager locals. Whilst there is plenty to see and do in the capital, a trip along the coastline will yield some superb beaches and some eye-opening reminders of the past. A visit to the slave forts of Cape Coast is an emotional trip, but one that should definitely be made when visiting the region.

This week, my race was well and truly run… Day 29 – Accra,…

Ivory Roast

November 2nd, 2019 Jack Noah Rees Last week, I listened to harrowing tales of bygone diamond conflicts and civil wars as I resumed my muddy trudge along the Atlantic Coast. This week, I continue my education as I sit in despots’ cars and tyrants swimming pools before rounding the bulge of West Africa and venture eastwards. Day 22 – Monrovia, Liberia…
